How do I void or refund an EMV transaction?
Voids and refunds are the same for EMV as they are for magstripe transactions. However First Data’s Rapid Connect platform deals with voids and refunds differently.
First Data’s Rapid Connect automatically settles transactions 25 minutes after authorization. You cannot void these settled transactions, you can only refund them.
Our gateway monitors the time after transaction authorization, and automatically processes it correctly. So if you attempt to void a transaction after it is settled, we convert it to a refund for you.
